Goldenseal is project estimating software for construction and for other businesses that work on large projects. It includes "smart dimensions", unit costs, assemblies and other aids for estimating project costs. You can use Goldenseal for preliminary "ballpark" estimates. The easiest way to do that is to start with a project template, and enter the basic "smart dimension" measurements for the project. Hit the Update Quantities button, and enter a percentage adjustment if you think that is needed to compensate for this type of work. You can also use Goldenseal for very accurate finished bids. Just take the ballpark estimate and check each line item in the job-- and adjust any quantities, change specifications or add new items to match the actual specs for the project. Goldenseal also handles allowances, bids and purchase orders in an estimate. When you update the source, it automatically updates the project estimate too. Besides estimating, Goldenseal also includes other project management features-- including schedules, contract writing, and tracking for allowances, change orders, problems and project paperwork.
