Goldenseal is project bidding software that creates estimates for any type of project, and tracks bids from suppliers and subcontractors.

Each project bid can include the following components:

• Allowances-- items that don't have firm specifications.
• Assemblies-- unit costs based on labor hours and material components.
• Bids-- supplier and subcontractor price quotes or estimates.
• Cost Items-- individual labor and materials for work that is not included in an assembly.
• Percentage Additions-- overhead, profit, contingencies and other "soft costs".
• Unlisted Items-- costs that are not covered by an existing cost item or assembly.

The Goldenseal project bidding software is a professional estimating package that includes many features to help you create fast, accurate bids. You can use templates to quickly include your usual cost items for each type of project that you do. Goldenseal's "smart dimensions" will calculate quantities for you, based on a few simple project measurements. And you can keep pricing accurate without much work, since Goldenseal automatically updates unit costs whenever you enter material purchases.

Goldenseal is also bid tracking software that manages bids that you receive from subcontractors or suppliers. It automatically uses the lowest bid when more than one vendor competes for the same project, and it updates estimates automatically as you receive each new bid. Before you receive firm bids, you can also enter a "rough estimate" for each bid. It will be replaced by firm price quotes after you receive them from your subs or suppliers.

Once you've finished the bidding process, Goldenseal uses the project estimate to write contracts, track job costs, and generate lists of materials and labor that you'll need for the project. The Goldenseal project management software even calculates a simple schedule for each project.
