Here are quick instructions for using Goldenseal to bill
for project work.
HINT-- These instructions work on the Sample Company file, and on your own file if you've
created Customer accounts and an estimate.
Setting up a Project
When you are ready to start work on a project, follow these steps:
- Choose Projects from the Accounts menu.
- Click the New button.
- Enter the customer who is paying for this project.
- Click in the Estimate field, and enter an estimate. You can also leave the field blank and type in a
project amount.
- Click the More Info button, and enter a Billing Type. You can also fill in other fields. Click OK.
Making a Project Bill
When you have completed some work on the project and are ready to bill the customer, follow these
steps:
- Choose Billing from the Bank menu, and choose Draw
Schedules, Progress
Payments or Time
and Materials, depending on the project billing type.
- You'll see a list of projects. Double-click on the project you want to bill now.
- You'll see a list of draw phases, work phases or expenses (depending on the billing type). Put a checkmark
next to each item you want to bill for now.
- Click OK.
- Click the Create Bills button.
- Goldenseal will create project bills. To see them, choose Billing
Records from the Bank menu.
Depositing Project Income
When a customer pays you for project work, follow these steps:
- Choose Deposit
Funds from the Bank menu.
- Enter Billed Projects into the popup field at upper right.
- Double-click on the project that has been paid now.
- Put a checkmark next to each bill that has been paid. Click OK.
- Click the Create Deposit button to deposit the project payment.
