Goldenseal is project tracking software that helps you to manage each project that you do. To set up a project budget, choose Estimates from the Income menu, click the New button and enter a detailed description of project work (or click the Template button to the right of the New button to start with a "stock" estimate). Goldenseal includes "smart dimensions", templates and unit costs to make the estimating process easier. For more about project estimates, click here. When you start work, set up a Project account. Whenever you enter expenses for the job, enter the project into the Job field, then use the Job Costs command to see a detailed breakdown of expenses for the project. If you are doing work for a client, Goldenseal will help you to bill for time and materials work, draw schedules or progress payments. It also tracks allowances and change orders. Goldenseal also includes a project log for project conditions, and a problem log for tracking "punch list" or "bug list" items. Goldenseal also includes contract writing, specification writing, material takeoffs (bills of materials), transmittal tracking and general business management tools.
