Contract Indentation

NOTE-- We retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software, back in 2000. At that time we replaced it with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, These manuals are still online as a courtesy to die-hard MacNail users-- most people have switched, but a few love Excel-based software!

Change Indentation

You can also change the look of your contracts by changing paragraph indentation.

To set the amount of indentation in a spreadsheet contract, follow these steps:
1. Click the mouse anywhere in the first column (or another column, if you are using multiple levels of indentation).
2. Choose Column Width from the Format menu, and enter a new value for the horizontal spacing.

Another way to change indentation in a spreadsheet contract created in the MacNail construction management software:
1. If column headings are not already visible at the top of the document, choose Display from the Options menu, and turn on Row and Column headings.
2. Click the mouse on the bar between two column letters or numbers. The cursor will change to a .
3. Drag the bar left or right to change the spacing of that column.

To change indentations in a spreadsheet contract, follow these steps:
1. Select the first row in the paragraph if you want a regular indent, or select all but the first row if you want a hanging indent.
2. Choose Cut from the Edit menu.
3. Select the same row(s) in the second column.
4. Choose Paste from the Edit menu.
5. Do the same for each paragraph.
6. Drag the bar left or right to change the column width (see the previous section).

HINT: It's much easier to format paragraphs in a word processor!
