Contract Graphics

NOTE-- We retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software, back in 2000. At that time we replaced it with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, These manuals are still online as a courtesy to die-hard MacNail users. You can also use Excel to format contracts created by Goldenseal, although it's usually much easier to use a word processor instead.

Add your Letterhead or other Graphics

You can add your business letterhead or logo, detail drawings, or any other graphics to a spreadsheet contract document created from the MacNail construction management software.

Before you do so, you'll need to have the graphics in computer-accessible form. Either use a graphics program to create it directly on the computer, or use a scanner (available at some copy centers or computer stores) to convert a drawing or photograph into a computer file.

To add a graphic to a Microsoft Excel document:

1. Run your favorite graphics program, and select the graphic image.
2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
3. Switch to Excel, and open the contract file.
4. Click at the spot where you'd like the graphic to appear, then choose Paste from the Edit menu.
5. Move the image by clicking on it and dragging it elsewhere. If necessary, adjust row heights or column widths so the graphic image doesn't cover any text.
