Contract Spell Checking

NOTE-- We retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software, back in 2000. At that time we replaced it with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, These manuals are still online as a courtesy to die-hard MacNail users. The contract-writing system from the MacNail Spec Writer lives on in Goldenseal contracts, which have a Write Contract button which creates a text document.

Spell Checking Construction Contracts

Microsoft Excel versions 4.0 and greater include spell-checking. You can check the Clauses file, or any contract created in spreadsheet form by the MacNail construction management software.

To check spelling, follow these steps:

1. Drag the mouse through the cells whose text you'd like to check. If you'd like to check the entire document, select just one cell anywhere.
2. Choose Spelling from the Options menu.
3. As the computer finds each word that is not in its dictionary, it will give you the option to ignore the word, to suggest the correct spelling, or to replace it with text that you type in.
4. Repeat step 3 until all spelling errors have been corrected.
