Stock Construction Contract Clauses

NOTE-- We retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software, back in 2000. It has been replaced with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, In Goldenseal, you can store any number of useful contract clauses to use in contracts.

Working with Stock Clauses

The MacNail construction management software makes it easy to add short 'stock' clauses to your contracts. This feature is especially useful for clauses that you include in just some contracts, since it is easy to change which stock clauses are included in the contract.

Using Stock Clauses

To include stock clauses in a contract, follow these steps:

1. Choose New Contract or New Subcontract from the Specs menu.
2. Turn on the Include Stock Clauses option and set any other options you'd like to use, then click OK.
3. You'll be shown a dialog box where you can choose which stock clauses to include. Turn on the checkbox for each item you'd like to include in the contract. Turn off the items you don't want to include.
4. Type in specific information about the project in the boxes provided.
5. Click OK.
6. The selected clauses will automatically be added to the contract, as it is being created.
