Contract Clause Options |
NOTE-- MacNail construction software was retired in 2000. and replaced with Goldenseal-- which handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, This manual is still online, as a courtesy to die-hard MacNail users! Goldenseal uses a simpler method of setting up construction contracts, but it still does a great job of assembling boilerplate language, and detailed project specifications. More Construction Contract Options The Show line item cost option controls whether the item cost will be shown in contracts and subcontracts created with the MacNail construction management software. * If you choose Always, each clause will have its cost included. For example, the clause might read "Contractor will fill 115 holes in the wall, at a cost of $75." NOTE: Even if you select this option, costs will not be included if you get Specifications from a Schedule, since the Schedule does not include labor costs. * If you choose Only when Flagged, the cost is shown only if the item is flagged in
the flag column of the Clauses file with either a C (showing the exact cost) or an A (showing an approximate
cost). NOTE: To change the text used for costs, see page 143. For more about flags, see page 139. The Sequential numbering option controls whether clauses in the contract are numbered. * If you choose Use Line Number, the first clause will start with a 1, the second clause with a 2, and so on. NOTE: If you make a contract from a Clauses file, code numbers will always be shown. The Work done by option determines which text will be used for the service provider in each clause. *
If you choose Name from who column, the specific trades listed in the 'who' column of the Clauses file
will be used. For example, the clause might read "Carpenter will fill 115 holes in the wall." Once you have entered your choices for the handling of clause text, click OK. Click Cancel to return to the original settings for Clause Options. |
