Adding and Clearing Rows

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It does not require Excel, and uses records to store your estimates and other business info, instead of spreadsheet rows.

Add Rows at Bottom

Choose Add Rows at Bottom to add a quantity of new rows at the bottom of a Customizing file. This command works on a Price Master, Price Sheet, Assemblies file, Comparisons file, or on any of the Code Masters.

To set the number of new rows that will be added, choose MacNail Options from the Options menu (see page 226).

Clear Rows

Choose Clear Rows to remove the contents of a selected row or rows from a worksheet in the MacNail construction management software. This command works on most types of Customizing files.

Unlike Delete Rows, Clear Rows does not remove the row-- it just erases its contents.

In Customizing files that contain formulas (Estimates, Estimators, Comparisons files), only the non-formula columns will be cleared.

To clear the contents of a row or rows:
1. Drag the mouse through any cells in the row or rows you'd like to clear.
2. Choose Clear Rows from the Edit Menu.
3. Click OK in the confirming dialog box.
4. The entire row or rows you selected will be cleared.
