Construction Subcontracts

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired all parts of MacNail construction software, and replaced it with Goldenseal, which is a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows. Goldenseal handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, It's possible to create both general contracts and subcontracts, when using Goldenseal.

Changing the Subcontractor List

If you'd like to modify the list of subcontractor categories used in the MacNail project management software, click the Edit List button while in the New Subcontractor dialog, or choose Subcontractors from the Options menu.

You'll be shown a list of subcontractor names. To change a name, click on the name, then click the Edit button.

Type in a new name, then click OK.

NOTE: The name you use should be an exact match with the name used in the 'who' column of the Clauses file.

To arrange the list of subcontractor categories into alphabetical order, click the Sort button.

When you are finished modifying the list of subcontractor categories in the MacNail construction management software, click the Done button. You will return to the list of subcontractors, and can select those you'd like to use in the subcontract.

Choosing Subcontract Components

Once you've selected the items to include in a subcontract, you'll be asked to select subcontract components, exactly the same as when creating a new contract. See pages 47 to 53 for more about this process.
