Spell Checking

NOTE-- Goldenseal software for construction companies replaced MacNail, back in 2000. It handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, This manual is still online, as a courtesy to die-hard MacNail users! You can spell-check Goldenseal contracts in any word processor program.

Spell Checking Construction Contracts

Most word processor programs allow you to check spelling in contracts created from the MacNail construction management software. For example, to spell-check with Microsoft Word, you'll follow these steps:

1. Choose Spelling from the Utilities menu.
2. As the computer finds each word that is not in its dictionary, it will give you the option to ignore the word, to suggest the correct spelling, or to replace it with text that you type in.

Other word processors will use a similar process to check spelling.

If you find spelling errors in contract text that came from a header or footer, be sure to go back correct the problem in the source file as well as in the contract! Likewise, correct any spelling errors you find in the stock clauses text, or in the Clauses file.

HINT: To directly check for spelling errors in the Clauses file, see page 94.
