Specifications Menu

NOTE-- MacNail construction software was retired in 2000, and replaced with Goldenseal-- a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows. Goldenseal is a complete construction business software package that includes construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, It also writes contracts and subcontracts that are similar to the ones produced by MacNail Spec Writer.

Specifications Menu Commands

The Specs menu includes commands that are used to create and work with contracts and other Spec Writer files in the MacNail construction management software.

Show This Clause...

Choose Show This Clause to see how a line in a Clauses file will look when it is added to a contract.

Before using the command, click anywhere in the line in the Clauses file that you'd like to check.

The clause will be displayed as it will appear in the contract, using all the options that you set in the Clauses file.

To view the next clause in the list, click the Next button. To view the previous clause in the Clauses file, click the Previous button. To use a different phrase type, click the Phrase button. To change the items that are flagged, click the Flags button.

When you are finished viewing clauses, click Done.

Keyboard Shortcut-- Option-Command-W

New Contract...

Choose New Contract to create a new contract document. See pages 47 to 53 for further instructions.

Keyboard Shortcut-- Option-Command-N

New Subcontract...

Choose New Contract to create a subcontract document. It will be similar to a contract, but will include only the work that will be done by one or several subcontractors.

Keyboard Shortcut-- Option-Command-S

New Clauses File...

Choose New Clauses file to create an additional Clauses file, where construction specifications will be stored.
