Custom Construction Contract Clauses

NOTE-- We retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software, back in 2000. It has been replaced with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, You can add an unlimited number of custom contract clauses to Goldenseal.

Custom Clauses

The MacNail construction management software includes eight custom stock clauses. They can be changed to whatever you want, since they do not ask for any specific information about the project.

HINT: Contract language that you want to have in all projects of a particular type can be added to a Header or Footer file, which has no size restriction. The best use for custom clauses is for contract items that you use only occasionally.

To include a custom clause in the contract, turn on the checkbox next to its name when you create a new contract (see page 105).

To change a custom clause, use the Stock Clauses command (see page 106), or click the Edit List button when you are asked which stock clauses to use when making a new contract.

Sorting Custom Clauses

To put the list of custom clauses into alphabetical order, follow these steps:

1. Choose Stock Clauses from the Options menu.
2. Click the Sort button.
3. Click the Done button.
