NOTE-- Our new Goldenseal software replaced MacNail back in 2000. It's a complete, stand-alone software package for Macintosh and Windows, that includes construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, We continue to keep the MacNail manuals online as a convenience for die-hard users! Goldenseal also creates contracts, subcontracts and spec sheets that are similar to those from MacNail.

Sort Special...

Choose Sort Special to arrange a Clauses file into ascending or descending alphabetical order within the MacNail construction management software.

To do so, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the desired worksheet is the active document (in front).
2. Choose Sort Special from the Data menu.
3. Click on the column you'd like to use to set the sort order.
4. Turn on the Ascending Order button to sort in ascending alphabetical order. Turn it off to sort in descending order.
5. Click OK.
6. The worksheet will be sorted. In this example, the entire worksheet will be sorted in ascending order, according to the contents of the 'who' column.

At times, you may want to get a special arrangement by sorting more than once. For example, if you sort the Clauses file first by phrase, then by 'who', you'll see each subcontractor grouped with the items for each subcontractor listed in ascending phrase order.

Import Specs...

Choose Import Specs to bring additional items into a Clauses file in the MacNail construction management software.
