Construction Clause Verbs

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail Spec Writer and the rest of the MacNail construction software package. Goldenseal replaced them-- it's a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, Instead of using a list of irregular nouns and verbs, Goldenseal lets you include multiple grammatical forms of verbs, in the text itself.

Irregular Verbs

You should enter words or phrases into the Verb column using the present (active) tense. The word or phrase you use should sound correct in the following sentence: Contractor will xxxx something in the project.

When phrase #2 is used, the present tense is replaced by the past (passive) tense. To create it, the MacNail construction management software adds either-d(if the word ends with an 'e') or -ed to the singular form.

EXAMPLE: If the verb is paint, it will be changed to painted. If the verb is remove, it will be changed to removed.

When phrases #3, #5 or #6 are used, the noun (gerund) form is used. To create it, the MacNail project management software adds -ing, after dropping the final 'e' if there is one.

EXAMPLE: If the verb is paint, it will be changed to painting. If the verb is remove, it will be changed to removing.

Any verbs that aren't handled correctly by the addition of -ed or -ing should be added to the list of irregular verbs, which includes the correct forms for the passive and noun.

NOTE: Verbs that are actually two verbs (such as 'strip and pile') should also be treated as irregular verbs.

2. Click on the verb you'd like to change, then click the Edit button.
