Construction Contract File Types |
NOTE-- We retired all MacNail construction software modules, back in 2000. It has been replaced with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, This manual is still online as a service to die-hard MacNail users. Goldenseal only writes contracts in text format, when you can then open in any text editor or word processor program. Choosing a File Type A new contract can be created by the MacNail project management software in either of two file formats. Click the button next to the type of file you'd like to create. Choose a Word Processor file to create a text file, which can be opened by any word processor program (see page 59). This option will go much quicker, and it's the preferred type of file to use in most cases. Choose a Spreadsheet file to create a normal Excel spreadsheet document, with each line of text appearing in a separate row of the spreadsheet. HINT: To change the number of characters that appear on each line in a contract created by the MacNail construction management software, see page 46. Using Stock Clauses To include stock clauses in the contract, turn on Include Stock Clauses. Stock clauses are short phrases that describe the project, and add language that describe a few special situations. Later on, you'll be asked to choose exactly which Stock Clauses to use (see page 51). |
