Construction Contract Specifications |
NOTE-- We retired all MacNail construction software modules, back in 2000. It has been replaced with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, This manual is still online as a service to die-hard MacNail users. Goldenseal uses a similar process to build a contract from stock clauses and project specifications. Building Construction Specifications To include specifications from an estimate or other project file, turn on the Include Specs from checkbox, then click on the type of file you'd like to use as a source. Click An Estimate to make a contract from a MacNail Estimate, or any estimate using a similar file format. The estimate must be located within the Current Estimates folder within the Estimates folder, which must be in the same folder as the Spec Writer folder (see page 9). NOTE: When making a contract from an Estimate, you'll be asked whether to make a Project List first. Say 'yes' to speed up the contract-making process. Say 'no' if you used Cell Notes to enter any contracts into the file (see page 38). Click A Project List to make a contract from a project list. A project list is a listing of all the Specification items included in a MacNail estimate, or an estimate using a similar file format. The project list must be located within the Current Reports folder within the Estimates folder, which must be in the same folder as the Spec Writer folder (see page 9). Click A Schedule to make a contract from a schedule created in the MacNail project management software . The schedule must be located within the Current Schedules folder within the Schedules folder, which must be in the same folder as the Spec Writer folder (see page 9). NOTE: Contracts made from a schedule will not show costs, since the Schedule does not include labor cost information. All allowances made from a schedule will be treated as Materials Only, no matter which type of allowance was originally flagged. Click A BidMagic Spec Sheet to make a contract from files created by BidMagic' Export Specifications command, or from files using a similar file format. The Spec Sheet must be located directly within the BidMagic folder, which must be in the same folder as the Spec Writer folder (see page 9). Spec Sheets that are inside the BidMagic Files folder or inside some other folder will not be listed. If the active document is an Estimate, Estimator, Project List, Schedule, Spec Sheet or Clauses file, you can also choose This file-- all items or This file-- selected range. To make a contract using just some items in a source file from the MacNail construction management
software, follow these steps: |
