Construction Clause Extras

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail construction software back in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal, a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows. Goldenseal is an integrated construction business program that includes construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, It no longer separates contract clauses into separate parts of speech, so it has no equivalent to Clause Extras.

Clause Extras

There are some phrases such as according to attached blueprints that you may wish to include in many different contract items. To save space in the Clauses file, enter the text as a Clause Extra.

Using Clause Extras

To include a Clause Extra at the end of a Clause in the MacNail construction management software, follow these steps:

1. Open the Clauses file.
2. Select any cells in the row or rows where you'd like to add a Clause Extra.
3. Choose Clause Extras from the Options menu.
4. Click on the Clause Extra you'd like to use, then click Apply.

You can also type the code text into the Extras column, but you must type it exactly as it appears in the list of extras. If the text you type does not match the list, an error message will be put in the contract (see page 61).

HINT: You can also use Copy and Paste to take an Extras code from one row and use it in one or more other rows.
