Checking Construction Allowances

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail construction software back in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal, which is a complete, integrated business software package for Macintosh and Windows. Goldenseal handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, It has better handling of project allowances, with separate billing for them, and expense tracking that can allocated to allowances.

Checking Allowances-- in a Main Contract file

If you have chosen not to list allowances in a separate file, the MacNail construction management software will scatter them through the main contract.

To locate allowances within the main contract in a word processor document, follow these steps:

1. Open the Contract.
2. Use your word processor's Find command to find the word allowance.
3. Repeat step 2 for each allowance you want to check.

To locate allowances within the main contract in a spreadsheet document, follow these steps:

1. Open the Contract.
2. Choose Find from the Formula menu.
3. Type in allowance as the text to find. Look in Formulas, in Part of the formula, by either Rows or Columns.
NOTE: The dialog you see may look slightly different, depending on your Excel version.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each allowance you want to check.
