Managing Scheduling Files

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired the MacNail construction software package, and replaced it with Goldenseal software for construction. Goldenseal is designed for builders, remodelers and other small businesses. It's an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple project scheduling. All Goldenseal data is stored in a single company file, so you won't have to fuss with file management like you did in MacNail!

Project Scheduling Files

The MacNail project management software uses many small, separate files to store your basic business information. You can manage your files directly within Excel, or use the Finder.

To rename a file within Excel:.
1. Use *Open File or Open to open the file.
2. Use Save As to give it a new name. You may need to use the File Finder (see page 134) to move to a different folder before saving.
3. The old copy of the file will still be on your hard disk. If you want to remove it, see the next section.

To delete a file within Excel:
1. Choose Delete from the File menu.
2. Use the File Finder to navigate through folders, and get to the desired file from the MacNail construction scheduling software. Click on the desired file, and click Delete. Click Cancel when you no longer want to delete more files.

To rename a file using the Finder
1. Open folders as needed until you can see the desired file icon.
2. Click on the icon, and type in a new name.
