Project Reminders

NOTE-- We retired the entire MacNail construction software package back in 2000 or 2001, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction management software. Like MacNail, it was developed for builders, remodelers and other small businesses. Goldenseal is now a mature stand-alone program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. In Goldenseal, you can use the To Do List and the Problem Log to track punch lists and task reminders.

Project Schedule Reminders

For each schedule item, the MacNail construction scheduling software stores frequently-needed reminders. For example, if the project includes 4x4 deck posts, a reminder to "mark post locations" will be included just before that item of work is scheduled to begin.

To get schedule reminders:

1. Choose *Get Schedule Reminders from the Data menu.
2. Choose the schedules to use, and click OK.
3. All schedule reminders will be retrieved (see page 62).

Reminders and Quality Control

The MacNail construction scheduling software will help you to keep track of all the "to do" items that accumulate in every project. It can be a very useful management tool, allowing you to produce higher quality work at a lower cost.

Creating and Opening Reminder Lists

Whenever you make a new schedule, a new Job Reminder List will be created for the project automatically.
To open a Reminder List, choose *Open Reminder List from the File menu. It will show you a list of all available Job Reminder Lists in the MacNail project management software.

If a reminder list hasn't been created for a project, choose *New Reminder List from the File menu, and type in the desired project name.
