Project Tool Report

NOTE-- We retired the entire MacNail construction software package back in 2000 or 2001, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction management software. Like MacNail, it was developed for builders, remodelers and other small businesses. Goldenseal is now a mature stand-alone program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. There is also a Tool List report in the Goldenseal software program.

Project Tool List

To make a Tool List in the MacNail construction scheduling software:

1. Drag the mouse through all the rows in the schedule for which you'd like to order materials.
2. Choose *Tool List from the Data menu.
3. A dialog box will appear. Choose Current Selection, and click OK.
4. The takeoff list will be created automatically. The process may take several minutes, depending on the number of items and the speed of your computer.

A Tool List is a list of tools and subcontractors needed for part or all of a project. It is particularly handy for small jobs, which seem to demand an inordinate amount of tool setup time and trips back to the shop!
