MacProject Project Management

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail construction software package in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal project management software. Goldenseal is a complete computer software package for builders and remodelers, providing accounting, estimating, and project scheduling features. It doesn't do critical path scheduling, but it does have some project management features that are similar to MacProject.

You can also use MacProject project management software to

* Add delays, overlap, lead times, and so on.
* Coordinate several projects at one time, by treating each project as a subproject of an overall company planning schedule.
* Include holidays, weekends, irregular work weeks, and other complications that are not handled by MacNail.
 * Change crew size, percentage of effort or task duration for any construction item.

NOTE: In the example below, we have double-clicked on the Floor Insulation box to see its contents. The numbers that are displayed were originally calculated by the MacNail construction scheduling software.

* Level resources automatically-- which accounts for the fact that you have a limited crew, who may become overloaded with work at times.
* Allocate resources, by changing the percentage of effort of some subcontractors or employees, or by assigning different people to tasks.
* View the project as a Gantt (bar) chart, either for the whole project, or for any of the workers that will be involved.
* Manage cash flow.
