Making Project Inspections

NOTE-- We retired MacNail back in 2000 or 2001, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction management software. Like MacNail,we developed Goldenseal for builders, remodelers and other small project-based businesses. Goldenseal is now a fully mature stand-alone program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction scheduling. The Goldenseal software also includes Project Inspections that are similar to the ones in MacNail. They are useful for general project management, and also for home inspection work.

Sorting and Extracting Reminder Lists

The *Sort Special command will group reminder list items in order of project, location, or person involved. It is a quick way to see all items for one particular job or subcontractor.

The *Extract Special command will pull off all items that match any criteria that you typed into the criteria at the bottom of the reminder list (see page 88).

Making Inspections

MacNail includes special quality control inspection sheets that can help you to run your jobs more smoothly. To see one of these inspection sheets, choose *Inspections from the McN menu (see page 59).

You can add or subtract items, or otherwise modify the inspection sheets to suit your own particular needs in the MacNail construction scheduling software.
