Project Inspections |
NOTE-- The entire MacNail software package is retired, and replaced with Goldenseal construction management software. The Goldenseal computer program is designed for remodelers, construction contractors, and other project-based businesses. Use it for accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction scheduling. There are similar Project Inspection lists in Goldenseal. Opening Project Inspections The MacNail construction scheduling software includes several inspection sheets that will help you in your quality control efforts on the jobsite. There are several key construction milestones that we have found to be an opportune time for a detailed inspection-- to come up with a list of problems that should be corrected before the next major phase of construction. To open one of the inspection sheets, choose *Inspections from the MacNail menu. You can also use the *Open File command from the File menu. You will normally print out the entire inspection sheet, and have a supervisor or an office employee fill it out on the job site. We have found that the best inspector is often a person not connected to the project-- an office staff member, or even someone's spouse. They will often catch problems that the job site foreman will overlook. Problems that turn up in the inspection can be brought back to the office and entered into the appropriate reminder list. You can then track it, and make sure the problem is resolved while it is still convenient to do so. |
