Using Extract Special

NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It has a variety of reports that you can create, from each estimate.

Extracting Estimate Info

For example, to find all items starting with the word 'window' that will be included in the bid with the MacNail construction estimating software:

1. Type in 'window' under item and >0 under units used.
2. Choose *Extract Special.
3. Click the Current Criteria button and click OK.
4. All matches will be listed below the 2nd row of headings and then pasted onto report worksheet.
 
project list from the McDermott Estimate will be saved as McDermott Extract. It will be placed in the Current reports folder.

NOTE: Your extract area is delicate and may become damaged. If you get the error message: 'Extract range invalid.' choose Fix Database from the Options menu.

NOTE: All reports are auto replaced. See page 129.
