Estimate Error Messages

NOTE-- Goldenseal construction estimating software replaced MacNail back in 2000. There are still quite a few MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, job costing and project management features. Most of the error messages described here are the result of Excel problems, so you won't experience them when using Goldenseal.

Sorry, couldn't find Clearinghouse on this estimate.

You are using a Short or Quickie Estimate, which has no Clearinghouse level in the MacNail construction estimating software.

Sorry, couldn't find that window in this Estimate.

The window is damaged, missing, or has been moved.
It can be repaired by choosing *Reset Window Display from the FORMAT menu, twice.

Sorry, this will not work on older versions.

A few of the MacNail menu commands will not work on estimators of a version earlier than 3.0.

Sorry, this won't work on a blank estimate.

You cannot create reports with no data.

Stopping a macro

You can stop an Excel macro at any time--press the command (cloverleaf) key and type a period (.).
Once you have 'cut in' to the macro, you will get a dialog box similar to the one shown on page 194. Click on HALT, hit Command-period or the RETURN or ENTER key to return to the normal Excel environment.
If you do halt a macro, close all documents WITHOUT saving, and then run the full macro again at some other time. See alsopage 194 on hiding the Message.
