Using Move Prices on Estimator Line Items

NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating software in 2000, and replaced it with the Goldenseal construction estimating program. There are still quite a few MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated business software program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Goldenseal stores all your data in a single file, and automatically updates prices. There's no need for the Move Prices command in it.

Move Prices Command

MacNail Customizing includes a Move Prices command that can move a large number of Estimating line items from one worksheet to another. You can move line items between Estimates, Estimators and Price Masters. For more about the use of the Move Prices command, see pages 93-97 and 221-223.

To move Specification line items:

1. Choose Move Prices from the Data menu.
2. Choose the type of file from which to get prices, and the type of file to move them to. Be sure to check 'Insert any new items not already in destination file' so new items will be added to the new file.

3. Select source and destination files from the file lists that MacNail shows you. The MacNail construction management software will then automatically proceed with the transfer of new items.
