Moving Construction Unit Prices |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Goldenseal does not need the Move Prices command, since it automatically updates and recalculates construction unit costs, as soon as you enter new labor or material pricing. Moving Construction Unit Costs To move prices and unit costs from one worksheet to another in the MacNail construction estimating software: 1. If you
want to move just a few selected items, open the file from which you'd like to move the unit price
information. The Get Items From buttons specify which file will be used as a source. You can move any kind of unit price information out of an Estimate, Estimator or Price Master. You can only move material unit costs out of a Material Costs file. This File-- all items and This File-- selected range will only be available if the active document is an estimating worksheet or Price Master. The Move Items To buttons specify the file or files that will be updated with the new unit price information. If you want to update just one file, choose one of the first three buttons. To update several estimating files, first open them all, then choose All Active estimating files. To update all of the estimators in your Estimating blanks folder, choose All Estimators in folder. If you turn on Use flagged items only, then the
only prices that will be used are those items in the source file that have a negative code number
(in an estimator) or text in the 'flag' column (in a Price
Master). Turn on Titles and Formulas to have the MacNail construction management software replace the item name, unit size, and suggested formula in the destination file(s) with the same items from the source. Turn on Labor Hours to have MacNail replace labor unit prices in the source file, and turn on Material Prices to have MacNail replace material unit prices. Turn on Notes/comments to have MacNail swap notes in an estimating worksheet with the contents of the 'comment' column in a Price Master, or vice-versa. Turn on Insert new items to have MacNail insert new lines for items that are not already in the destination file. If this item is turned off, then MacNail will only update existing items, without adding any new items. NOTE: See pages 93-97 for further instructions in the use of the Move Prices command. |
