Job Costing & Material Take Offs

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Goldenseal tracks job costs, and uses category systems to identify job costs.

Feedback Job Costs

Choose Feedback Job Costs to adjust your unit prices based on the job costing 'experience' from the Cost Control worksheets produced by the MacNail Accounting software.

Get Takeoff Materials

Choose Get Takeoff Materials when you've added or changed items in an Assemblies file, to produce a new Takeoff Master for use by the MacNail Scheduling software.

NOTE-- Goldenseal also creates material takeoffs, through the two Bill of Materials reports.

Code Systems

Choose Code Systems to rename category, item or material code systems to create new code systems or to convert files between two different code systems. It can also be used to check the current code system in the active document.

This command will work on category code systems in an estimate, estimator, Category Sheet or Price Master in the MacNail construction management software (see pages 142-152).

It also works on item code systems in an estimate, estimator, Price Master or Assemblies file (see pages 153-155), and on material code systems in a Price Sheet, Comparisons file or Assemblies file (see pages 156-157).
