retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced
it with Goldenseal estimating software.
There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the
manuals online for them! Goldenseal is integrated software
that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract
writing features.
It also is a popular Macintosh construction
software program. Macintosh System Requirements
Before beginning with the MacNail project management software,
check to make sure you have the correct hardware and software to run it.

Computer hardware: MacNail estimating software will run on any
Macintosh. If you have one of the older (pre-1987)
128K or 512K machines, you will need to upgrade
it to a Mac Plus before you can use MacNail.

RAM: RAM Depending on your computer type, System version and Excel version, you will need two to four
megabytes of RAM (random-access memory) to run MacNail Customizing. Contact our Technical Support staff for help in
determining your exact RAM needs.

System Software: For best results, you should have the latest version of System and Finder installed
on your hard disk. MacNail Customizing will currently run on Macintosh System 6.0.3 or greater.

Hard Disk: Disk DrivesMacNail requires a hard disk of any size. You should have at least 2 megabytes
of free space on your hard disk before you load MacNail Customizing.
HINT: It's good practice to leave 10-15% free space on your hard disk. This will increase
speed and cut down on hard disk wear.

Excel: the MacNail project management software requires that you have a copy of Microsoft Excel loaded onto
your hard disk. MacNail 3.0 will only run successfully under Excel version 2.2 or later. If you are using Excel 1.5
or earlier, you will need to get
an upgrade directly from Microsoft-- call (800) 426-9400.
