Using Worksheet Criteria

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It has a Find command which makes it easy to locate any estimating or accounting data.

Using Find Criteria

Many MacNail Customizing files are set up with a special Criteria section at the bottom of the worksheet, so Excel's database features will be available. You can use the Criteria section to get any desired type of information from the worksheet.

NOTE: You'll find a Criteria section at the bottom of Estimates, Estimators, Price Masters, Material Price Sheets and Assemblies files, as well as in most types of accounting files. .

The Criteria section makes it easier to find and extract specific information from your Customizing worksheets.

Using the Criteria Section

To use the Criteria section in any MacNail construction management software worksheets, you first enter a set of criteria. You'll then have access to all items in the worksheet that match those criteria.

To jump to all items matching the current criteria, choose Find from the Data menu. To extract a list of all items matching the current criteria, choose Extract Special from the Data menu.
