How do I reduce rent temporarily?

Goldenseal rental management software lets you enter adjustments to rent amounts, in addition to regular rent payments.

If you want to give tenants a rent reduction, follow these steps:

1. Choose Rental Transactions from the Income menu.
2. Click the New button.
3. Fill in the tenant, and the amount of the rent reduction.
4. In the Brief Description field, put in a brief explanation of the credit.
5. Enter Other Credit into the Transaction Type popup field.
6. Hit the Enter key to save the record.

If you haven't already done so, also use Rental Billing to create a Rental Transaction for the usual rent amount.

When you receive payment, use the Deposit Funds command, and include both the regular rent, and the credit.
