How can I add a more detailed description for line items in a project bill?

Goldenseal project billing software includes a Comments field for all types of breakdowns. You can use it to add a more detailed description for each line item in a draw schedule, progress payment or time and materials project bill.

Adding Comments to Data Entry Layouts

To add the optional comments column to your project bills, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Enter Billing Records into the Transaction popup field at upper left.
  3. Enter the type of billing you'd like to change, into the Layout popup field.
  4. Click in the breakdown table on the layout.
  5. Choose Add Column to Table from the Edit menu.
  6. Click on Comments in the list of optional fields, then click OK.
  7. Goldenseal will add the new data column to the far right side of the layout.

HINT-- Hold down the Alt or Command key, if you want to click and drag the column to a different location.

To add the optional comments column to your printed project bills, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Printed Forms from the submenu.
  2. Enter Billing Records into the Transaction popup field at upper left.
  3. Enter the type of billing you'd like to change, into the Print Form popup field.
  4. Click in the breakdown table on the layout.
  5. Choose Add Column to Table from the Edit menu.
  6. Click on Comments in the list of optional fields, then click OK.
  7. Goldenseal will add the new data column to the far right side of the layout.
  8. Hold down the Alt or Command key, if you want to click and drag the column to a different location.
