Estimated vs Actual Reports

How do I see an estimated versus actual job cost report?

Goldenseal job costing software includes several reports that show job costs in an "estimated vs actual" format.

Choose Projects from the Reports menu, and choose one of these reports:

• Costs by Class-- a breakdown of costs by class and category.
• Costs by Category-- a breakdown of costs for each category.
• Costs by Subcategory-- a breakdown of costs for each category and subcategory.
• Costs by Location-- a breakdown of costs for each location in a project.

The above reports use an "estimated vs actual" format-- they show estimated labor, materials, subcontractors and other costs, compared with actual costs for each of those areas.

To see an itemized breakdown of the specific costs, grouped by category and subcategory, choose Projects from the Reports menu and choose Itemized Costs from the submenu.

You can also use the Job Costs command to "drill down" through categories and subcategories to see specifc cost items.
