Navigating Estimate Dimensions

I can't find dimensions, or I can't get back to the original estimate!

In Goldenseal estimating software version 3.0 we have changed the navigation system for estimating dimensions, so you are less likely to get "lost" when preparing an estimate.

Using Dimensions in version 3.0 and Newer

In Goldenseal 3.0 and newer, you can show dimensions in any of three ways:

  • Click one of the dimension buttons on the Estimate layout (Item breakdowns only).
  • Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose a dimension layout from the submenu.
  • Click the Form Type button at lower left and choose a dimension from the popup field.

Dimensions appear in a "modal" dialog with Cancel and OK buttons. Click Cancel to return to the main estimate without saving changes in the dimensions. Click OK to use the new dimensions.

When you finish entering dimensions you'll automatically return to the main part of the estimate.

Using Dimensions in version 2.9 and earlier

In versions of Goldenseal before 3.0, you can show dimensions in either of two ways:

  • Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose a dimension layout from the submenu.
  • Click the Form Type button at lower left and choose a dimension from the popup field.

The data entry screen will change to a dimension layout.

When you finish entering dimensions, do either of the following to return to the main part of the estimate:

  • Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose Specifications from the submenu.
  • Click the Form Type button at lower left and choose Long Form from the popup field.
