Payroll Deductions-- Troubleshooting

Problem

Doesn't calculate deductions in the Write Payroll command
Using Goldenseal payroll software, doesn't get deductions for an employee

Diagnosis

1. Is it showing any Labor Hours for the employee?
2. Check the Employee account. Do they have a tax package?
3. Check the assigned Tax Package in the Employee account. Does it have items turned on?
4. Check the Wage Schedule used in the Labor Hours record. Does it have "use employee tax package" turned on?
5. Using version 1.0 of Goldenseal construction payroll software?

Solution

1. Need to enter some hours into Labor Hours records, so Goldenseal payroll software can calculate wages!
2. Need to enter a tax package!
3. The tax package needs to include deductions!
4. If not, they probably expect it to use the employee's tax package and should turn it on. If not, is there a tax package assigned there? If so, check that package for correct items.
5. A bug in 1.0, fixed in version 1.01 of Goldenseal payroll software.
