Navigate Menu Commands

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Navigate Menu

The Navigate menu is used to move around in the BidMagic construction estimating software.

Welcome

Choose Welcome to go to the card you see when you first open BidMagic (see page 19). Use this command to see our legal notice or production credits, or to find out what version of BidMagic you are currently using.

Instructions

Choose Instructions to see some general instructions about the use of fields and buttons in BidMagic (see page 97).

Basic Costs -B

Choose Basic Costs to go to the Basic Costs card (see page 134). Basic Costs is where you'll enter fudge factors, locality and quality factors, and wage rates.

Overhead -H

Choose Overhead to go to the Overhead & Profit card (see page 147). Overhead is where you'll enter overhead, profit and contingency percentages.

Soft Costs -T

Choose Soft Costs to go to the Soft Costs card (see page 159). Soft Costs is where you'll enter sales tax and other general business costs.

Dimensions -D

Choose Dimensions to go to the Dimensions directory card. This directory card lets you go to any other card in the Dimensions section of BidMagic (see page 168).
Dimensions is where you'll enter the size of the project, so BidMagic can compute the quantities you'll need for each phase of construction.

Specifications -S

Choose Specifications to go to the Specifications directory card. This directory card lets you go to any other card in the Specifications section of BidMagic (see page 249).
Specifications is where you'll enter the actual construction items that will be used in the project.

Bottom Line -L

Choose Bottom Line to see a detailed breakdown of construction costs (see page 333).

Preferences

Choose Preferences to set up the way BidMagic handles certain options (see page 93).

Recent Card -R

Choose Recent Card to return to the card you were in most recently.Previous Card -2
Choose Previous Card to move 'left' to the card immediately before the current card.

Next Card -3

Choose Previous Card to move 'right' to the card immediately after the current card.
