NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

HVAC Estimating

The HVAC cost category includes Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning equipment.

NOTE: Metal fireplaces and chimneys are listed under Masonry. Electric heat is listed under Finish Electrical, while hot water or steam heat is listed under Finish Plumbing.

To get to this card, click on the Rough Utilities button on the Specs Directory, then choose HVAC from the pop-up menu.

NOTE: BidMagic comes with 'ballpark' unit prices in this category, designed for rough estimating only. If you do your own HVAC work, you'll probably want to add more detailed choices to this category.

HVAC Cost Subcategories

BidMagic HVAC Estimating software divides the basic HVAC category into several subcategoaries.

Heating and Air Conditioning covers hot-air furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioner accessories, and all related equipment.

Ventilation covers venting for kitchens and baths, and related venting.

NOTE: The price for kitchen and bath venting lines include the duct work only--the fans themselves are listed under Fans & Smoke Detectors Finish Electrical. If fans are included in HVAC on your projects, adjust the unit prices here, and don't include fans in Finish Electrical.
