Estimating Exterior Trim

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for exterior trim on windows, doors, soffits etc.

Exterior Trim Estimating

The Exterior Trim category includes casings on the outside of windows and doors, and other outdoor trim. To get to the Exterior Trim card, click on the Exterior Trim & Siding button on the Specs Directory, then choose Exterior Trim from the pop-up menu.

Exterior Trim Cost Subcategories

BidMagic trim estimating software divides the Exterior Trim category into several cost subcategories:

Doors & Windows covers exterior casings for windows and doors.

NOTE: If the doors or windows you purchase come with exterior trim already attached, then you won't need to select anything in this section.

Garage/Deck/Porch Trim includes garage window and door trim, porch railings, deck seats and stairs, and related exterior trim.

Fascias & Soffits covers the finish under rakes and eaves.

Other Exterior Trim includes house number and any other exterior trim that doesn't fit into one of the other subcategories on this card.
