Estimating Ironwork

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for structural steel and other ironwork.

Structural Steel Estimating

The Ironwork category in BidMagic construction estimating software includes structural steel and ornamental ironwork. To get to this card, click on the Structures button on the Specs Directory, then choose Ironwork from the pop-up menu.

Structural Metal includes I-beams and other heavy steel framing.

Metal Joists & Decking handles long-span metal joists and steel decking. Light metal joists are listed on the Basement & Floor card instead.

Ornamental Iron includes railings, window grilles and other decorative ironwork.

Other Metalwork gives you a place to put any other metal materials that don't fall into one of the existing categories on this card.
