Estimating Deck Framing & Other Framing

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for deck framing, porch framing and other types of framing.

Misc Framing Estimates

Misc Framing includes porch, deck, garage, stair and repair framing. To get to this card, click on the Structures button on the Specs Directory, then choose Misc Framing from the pop-up menu.

Stair Framing includes stair stringers, temporary stair treads and other structural elements of stairways. Rough stairways of plank lumber can be included here completely. The trim portion of finished stairways will be handled under interior trim instead.

Repair Framing covers filling in doorways, beefing up deficient framing, and other types of framing repairs.

Deck Framing includes decking, railings and other framing for exterior decks. Generally it uses the deck dimensions that you entered previously on the Exterior Dimensions card.

NOTE: Deck stairs and seats are listed under Garage, Porch and Deck on the Exterior Trim card.

Porch Framing includes piers, posts, joists and rafters for porches. It generally uses the porch dimensions that you entered previously on the Exterior Dimensions card.

Garage Framing includes wall and roof framing for detached or semi-detached garages. It generally uses the garage dimensions from the Exterior Dimensions card.

Framing Hardware includes nails, screws, fasteners and adhesives used in structural framing. Most of the framing unit prices already include fasteners, but this subcategory allows you to add additional hardware whenever it is needed.

Other Framing covers any framing not covered by one of the other Framing subcategories.
