Estimating Corners and Trim |
The BidMagic construction estimating software includes project quantities for project corners, trim widths and other items which affect project cost. Miscellaneous Dimensions Enter quantities for a few assorted dimensions in the bottom half of the Misc. Dimensions
card. Under Interior Wall Corners, enter the total number of interior corners in all rooms and closets being worked on. Include both concave corners and convex corners such as in the 'outwards' corner of an L-shaped room. EXAMPLE: A rectangular room will have four corners, while an L-shaped room will
have six corners. HINT: To save time, lock this dimension, then unlock it and add two additional corners for each 'L' shaped room in the project. Under Exterior Wall Corners, enter the number of corners on the outside of the building, including all parts of the building being worked on. Include both convex corners and concave corners such as in the 'inwards' corner of an L-shaped building. HINT: An addition may create two outside corners and two inside corners. A new rectangular building will have four outside corners, and an L-shaped building will have six corners. Baseboard Trim Width and Total Length If you are cutting baseboards out of pine or hardwood stock, enter the width you will use for baseboards (measured in inches) into Baseboard Trim Width. NOTE: If you are using stock mouldings or will have no baseboard trim, you may safely ignore this quantity. Enter the total length (in feet) of baseboards to be installed or otherwise worked on into Baseboard Total Length. NOTE: If this quantity is locked, it will be based on the length of the outside walls plus twice the length of inside walls, minus door openings.
