Using the Transfer Manager

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Using the Transfer Manager

Once you have opened the Transfer Manager, you can use it to move bids from BidMagic to MacNail, or to move unit prices between the two programs.

The Transfer Manager automatically puts a Bid menu onto the menu bar, to the right of the regular Excel menu commands. It will usually be just to the right of the Window menu--however if another MacNail module is already running, it may be to the right of the MacNail (McN) menu instead.

WARNING: If you have a small screen, you may only have room for one extra menu on the menu bar. If that is the case, be sure to close any other MacNail Managers before opening the Transfer Manager, so you have room to see the Bid menu.

In order for it to work properly, the Transfer Manager must be in the BidMagic folder. The BidMagic folder should be put inside your MacNail folder, alongside the Estimates and Customizing folders.
