We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are
similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Using System 6 with MultiFinder
If you are using Macintosh
System 6 with MultiFinder and have at least 4 megabytes of available RAM, you'll be
able to run both BidMagic and MacNail at the same time.
NOTE: To switch to MultiFinder from the Finder, choose
Set Startup from the Special menu, click on MultiFinder, then restart the computer. If you don't have at least
4 megabytes, see page 386.
To open the MacNail Transfer Manager from BidMagic, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Apple menu.
2. Choose Finder from the pull-down menu.
NOTE: If the Transfer Manager is already open, choose Excel instead, and skip the rest of these instructions.
3. Locate the Transfer Manager on your hard drive--it should be in the BidMagic folder inside your MacNail folder.
Do not use the older Transfer Manager in your Estimates folder--it will not work with BidMagic.
4. Double-click on the Transfer Manager.
5. Microsoft Excel will be opened, and a Bid menu will be added to the far right side of the Excel menus.
To
open BidMagic from MacNail, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Apple menu.
2. Choose Finder from the pull-down menu.
3. Locate BidMagic or any BidMagic estimate on your hard drive.
4. Double-click on the file icon to open it.
To switch between BidMagic and MacNail when both are open:
1. Click on the Apple menu.
2. Choose either BidMagic or Microsoft Excel from the applications listed near the bottom of the
menu.
Using System 6 with the Finder
If you have less than 4 megabytes of RAM or you prefer to use
the Finder instead of MultiFinder, you'll need
to run BidMagic and MacNail separately.
To open the MacNail Transfer Manager from BidMagic, follow these steps:
1. Choose Quit from the File menu.
2. Locate the Transfer Manager on your hard drive--it should be in the BidMagic folder inside your MacNail folder.
Do not use the older Transfer Manager in your Estimates folder--it will not work with BidMagic.
3. Double-click on the Transfer Manager.
4. Microsoft Excel will be opened, and a Bid menu will be added to the far right side of the Excel menus.
To
open BidMagic from MacNail, follow these steps:
