Moving Estimating Subcategories

You can customize the appearance of the BidMagic construction estimating software, by moviing subcategories to different locations on the construction specifications cards.

Moving Construction Subcategories

To move a construction subcategory up or down within a column on any Specifications card, follow these steps:

1. Choose Move Subcategory from the Edit menu.
2. Select a subcategory from the list.
3. If it is possible to move the selected item to a different column, you'll be asked if you want to switch columns--click Drag It. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
4. The cursor will turn to a 'grabber hand'. Click on the subcategory title and drag it up or down. NOTE: You'll only be able to drag the subcategory to a 'legal' position on the card.

When you release the mouse button, the entire subcategory will be shifted to the new location.

To move a subcategory from one column to the other, follow these steps:

1. Make room in the opposite column by moving the other subcategories up or down and by removing buttons if necessary, so there is a big enough free space to fit the subcategory you'd like to move.
2. Choose Move Subcategory from the Edit menu, then select a subcategory from the list.
3. When asked whether to move the selected subcategory to a different column, click Switch It. NOTE: If you click Drag It, you'll be able to move the subcategory up or down. If you click Cancel, you'll stop all action.
4. The subcategory will be moved to the other column. Choose Move Subcategory a second time if you'd like to drag it up or down.
