Estimating Menu Commands

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Data Menu

The Data menu is used to import and export prices, archives, and other files that link the BidMagic construction estimating software to other programs.

Export Dimensions

Choose Export Dimensions to create a text file listing all of the current project 's dimensional measurements.

Export Specifications

Choose Export Specifications to create a text file listing all of the line item costs from Specifications.

Export Bottom Line

Choose Export Bottom Line to create a text file showing a breakdown of project costs (see page 337).

Export Bid to MacNail

Choose Export Bid to MacNail to send all information about the current project to MacNail (see page 388).

Create Archive

Choose Save Archive to save a compact copy of the project for long term storage (see page 70). Later on the archive can be brought back into BidMagic with the Open Archive command.

Open Archive

Choose Open Archive to read an archive file, and set up BidMagic exactly as it was when the archive was originally saved (see pages 70-71).

Import Unit Prices

Choose Import Unit Prices to update BidMagic'ss price book (see page 396). This command allows you to 'link' BidMagic with MacNail or other programs.

Export Unit Prices

Choose Export Unit prices to save a text file listing the current unit prices in BidMagic (see page 398). This command allows you to 'link' BidMagic with MacNail or other programs.
