NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for finish electrical work.

Finish Electrical Estimating

The Electrical Finish card covers fixtures and other electrical items usually installed after drywall. To get to this card, click on Finish Utilities in the Specs Directory, then choose Electrical Finish from the pop-up menu.

NOTE: BidMagic comes with 'ballpark' unit prices in this category, designed for rough estimating only. If you do your own electrical work, you'll probably want to add more detailed choices to this category.

Finish Electric Subcategories

BidMagic electrical estimating software divides the Finish Electric category into several cost subcategories:

Electrical Fixtures includes lighting fixtures of all varieties.

Fans & Smoke Detectors covers ventilation fans and smoke detectors.

NOTE: Ductwork for vent fans is covered under HVAC.

Electric Heat includes radiant panels and baseboard electrical heat.

Other Electrical covers the wiring of door chimes, thermostats, and any other electrical items not covered elsewhere on this card.
