Estimating Appliances

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for kitchen and laundry appliances.

Appliances Estimating

This card covers kitchen, laundry and miscellaneous appliances, and their basic installation.

NOTE: Appliance hookup costs are covered on the Finish Plumbing and Finish Electrical cards.

Kitchen Appliances includes refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and other kitchen appliances.

Laundry Appliances includes washers and dryers.

Other Appliances covers any other appliance work not covered by one of the other categories on this card.

Including Appliance Costs

The Appliances card includes two choices for the handling of the cost of appliances. If you select Installation Only, only the labor cost of installation will be included. If you select Provide Appliances, both the installation cost and the cost of appliances themselves will be part of the bid.

NOTE: The material unit cost of appliances should always use *Appliances as a material adjustment, since that is what controls the actual appliance cost, based on the status of the button choices.
